NPR Obtains $27 Million Verdict in Patent Infringement Case
On March 26, a federal jury in Marshall, Texas, awarded Nix Patterson & Roach client DataTreasury Corp. $27 million in damages against U.S. Bank and two other companies for patent infringement. In addition to the damages award, the jury found that U.S. Bank had willfully infringed DataTreasury's patents. federal patent law allows a District Judge to award enhanced damages when a jury finds willful infringement of patents, and post-trial motions to increase the amount of the judgement against U.S. Bank will be decided in the coming months.
